The article examines the role of internationalization in planning education through the case of a multiuniversity planning studio organized in conjunction with the 2nd World Planning Schools Congress (WPSC-06) in Mexico City. It argues that integrating international experiences into planning curricula is increasingly important, yet unevenly supported across institutions. The paper presents the collaborative studio organized by Arizona State University and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, involving students from multiple institutions, as a model for enhancing global learning in planning education. It highlights the pedagogical value of combining studio work, study abroad, and participation in a major international congress, enabling students to engage with real-world planning challenges in a global context. The study concludes by advocating for institutionalizing such initiatives within future World Planning Congresses, emphasizing the role of organizations such as GPEAN, ACSP, and partner institutions in supporting international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
