dc.description.abstract | This paper investigates the cultural risks associated with rapid urban development in Shanghai, focusing on the tension between preservation and transformation of the built environment. It introduces a framework for risk identification, assessment, warning, and management, supported by a multi-level evaluation system of indicators. Using the Fuxing Wharf Area as a case study, the research demonstrates how cultural memory and heritage face extinction under accelerated industrialisation and urban expansion. The findings provide a structured approach for assessing cultural risks and propose management measures to guide decision-making in large-scale urban development. | |
