This Book of Abstracts contains contributions presented at the ACSP–AESOP 3rd Joint Congress held in Leuven, Belgium, from 8 to 12 July 2003, under the theme “The Network Society: The New Context for Planning.” The congress explored how the emerging network society reshapes spatial planning, governance, urban development, regional policy, housing, infrastructure, social capital, and planning education. The proceedings reflect early 2000s debates on globalization, governance transformation, communicative planning, and the changing role of planners in increasingly interconnected urban and regional systems. The event represents an important collaboration between AESOP and ACSP and documents a significant moment in international planning scholarship.
