Abstract
The Song-Yuan Mountain Fortress System in the Sichuan-Chongqing region of China emerged from the 13th-century conflict between East Asian agrarian and nomadic civilizations. Preserving military engineering relics from both the Song and Yuan dynasties, it reflects the historical evolution of diverse civilizations in the region. This study employs GIS tools and knowledge graph technologies to analyse the mountain fortress system, identifying key value elements and their interconnections. By examining the socio-economic context of Sichuan, China, during the Song-Yuan wars, the research explores the factors and internal logic shaping spatial pattern evolution, aiming to support the comprehensive preservation of the system in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.
