| dc.description.abstract | Despite growing global interest in energy poverty and gender issues, limited research explores their intersection from a female perspective. This study examines the feminization of energy poverty in China, contrasting urban and rural experiences. Drawing on data from the China Family Panel Studies and applying mixed methods, the research finds that rural women face significantly higher levels of energy poverty than their urban counterparts. This disparity is linked to traditional Confucian gender norms, limited financial autonomy, and restricted access to education. Offering a feminist lens, the study enhances understanding of gendered energy disparities in China and proposes targeted strategies to support a more equitable and sustainable energy transition. | |
