| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the role of the “urban factor” in the location choice motivations of highly skilled individuals migrating from Türkiye to the Netherlands. Using a mixed-method approach, the research compares spatial (transportation, infrastructure, public facilities, spatial quality, cost of living) and non-spatial (economic, political, social, personal) factors affecting migration decisions, based on data collected from participants via online survey. The findings indicate that for highly skilled participants, spatial elements hold equal importance to economic and social reasons in their migration decisions. While contributing to discussions on talent migration and urban competitiveness, the study highlights the necessity of inclusive, liveable, and holistic planning policies for cities to attract human capital and facilitate integration processes. | |
