| dc.description.abstract | The emergence of the 15-minute city concept is linked to the climate crisis. Research on streamlining decisions in the planning practice to respond to this crisis shows that technology integration guides better decisions and strengthens citizen engagement. This paper focuses on two questions; will the use of AI tools help make public engagement truly meaningful? and how can technology platforms in urban planning curriculum enhance students’ experience? I utilized an Artificial Intelligence tool to examine engagement and integrated mixed reality to develop neighbourhood scenario models in an undergraduate studio. Feedback from student assessment and peer’s input yielded an effective engagement, appreciation for technology, geospatial platforms, and role play tools. Quantitative measures using campus standard surveys were utilized to measure the impact of the revised curriculum. | |
