Abstract
This paper analyses the impact of industrial transfer from China’s eastern coastal regions to the central and western parts of the country, focusing on urbanisation dynamics, risks, and prevention strategies. It outlines the characteristics of industrial relocation, including large-scale, high-investment, and high-pollution industries, and examines their influence on urban expansion and land value. Using comparative indicators and case studies, the paper develops a risk assessment framework to identify challenges faced by central and western cities in absorbing industrial transfer. It concludes with recommendations for managing risks and promoting sustainable urban development in these regions.
