A Study on Per Capita Housing Status and Living Quality Enhancement in Dashilan Historical and Cultural Block

Abstract

Firstly, the experience of improving living quality in the UK, Japan and Hong Kong, China is systematically collated, and based on the experience, the minimum living standards of eight countries, namely, the US, Canada, the UK, Italy, Germany, Japan, South Korea and China, are also collated. Secondly, combining the data from the 7th National Population Census, residents’ interviews and field research, we quantitatively assessed the current per capita housing situation in Dashilan in terms of spatial size, basic functional spaces, architectural performance and basic equipments, and the living environment, and found out the gaps between them and the minimum standards of domestic and foreign countries. Finally, it puts forward suggestions for improving the living quality from the aspects of standard setting, housing survey and supervision, dynamic database platform construction, and sustainable updating mechanism.
