Abstract
The study analyzes the coastal landscape of the mid-Adriatic coast of Abruzzo, from Pineto to Vasto, interpreting the heritage processes connected to the dynamics of territorial transformation. The focus is on new forms of development aimed at enhancing the coastal heritage, understood as an accessible resource.
The research deals with heterogeneous territories: the Adriatic city, squeezed between the coastline and the infrastructure that crosses the Adriatic dorsal of the country, and the Costa dei Trabocchi, where the rural landscape clashes with the pressures of urbanization and tourism.
The coastal heritage, consolidated and in need of reinterpretation, is understood here as an environmental infrastructure and a laboratory for experimenting with policies to mitigate the risks posed by climate and social change, capable of developing sustainable enhancement strategies.
