Abstract

As the metaverse grows into a new kind of shared and personal space, companies in Türkiye’s information industry are turning to virtual offices to better support employees working in hybrid setups. This study looks at what drives these companies to choose certain locations in the metaverse, with a special focus on how environmental and urban design can make these digital workspaces more appealing and effective. Using an online survey and correlation analysis, the research identifies key design features that impact corporate preferences. It aims to bridge theory and practice in metaverse platform design and contributes to the literature by revealing environmental design elements unique to virtual environments, which may align with or diverge from those in the physical world.
